Venkateswara

Sri Venkateswara or Maha Vishnu, meaning "all-pervasive" is the Lord of protection, sustenance and maintenance and is one of the gods of Trinity that also includes Brahma and Shiva. He is shown in blessing mudra and holds the chakra and conch in his hands.

His consort is Goddess Lakshmi. He periodically incarnates as a living being to reestablish dharma and protect humanity. It is believed that He has come to earth as nine avatars (incarnations) -including as a fish and boar (theorized as symbolizing evolution)- and a future incarnation, Kalki, is yet to come.

Venkateswara Suprabhatam and Abhishekam are held every Saturday morning in the temple. A special prayer and celebration is held at Vaikuntha Ekadshi.
